Youth Charged in Commercial Break and Enter Investigation
A 16-year-old has been charged following an investigation into commercial break and enters in York Region and the Greater Toronto Area.
York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (4CIB) investigators have charged a 16-year-old. This follows an investigation into a series of commercial break and enters across York Region and the Greater Toronto Area.
In March 2026, 4CIB, in partnership with Peel Regional Police, began investigating a series of break and enters in the City of Vaughan. The suspect reportedly forced entry into businesses overnight, targeting safes and cash. Officers identified the suspect during the investigation.
On June 11, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a Mississauga residence. The suspect was arrested, and officers located a replica firearm believed to have been used during the break-ins. A stolen vehicle was also recovered. The accused was bound by a release order at the time of the offenses. The investigation is ongoing.
