Youth Charged Following E-Bike Incident in Georgina

Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a male youth after the dangerous operation of an e-bike in Georgina. On May 29, 2026, officers on general patrol near Wexford Drive and Carrick Avenue were informed by a motorist about an e-bike with two riders traveling at high speed, with at least one rider not wearing a helmet.

Officers located the e-bike near The Queensway South and Morton Avenue. The e-bike proceeded through a red light and was nearly struck by a motor vehicle. While being operated on the sidewalk, the e-bike went over a bump, causing the rear passenger, a female youth, to fall and sustain non-life-threatening injuries. The driver then fled the scene on the e-bike.

Following an investigation, the driver was identified as a male youth from Georgina. On Friday, July 3, 2026, he was charged with Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm, Failure to Stop After Accident, and Flight from Peace Officer.
