York Regional Police Officer Charged

A York Regional Police officer has been charged with unauthorized use of computer and breach of trust by a public officer.

Constable Kivijan Ketheeswaran of the York Regional Police is facing criminal charges following an investigation by the force's Professional Standards Bureau. Constable Ketheeswaran was arrested on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The charges include Unauthorized Use of Computer and Breach of Trust by Public Officer.

Constable Ketheeswaran began employment with York Regional Police in October 2024 and worked as a uniform officer in 4 District. He has been under paid suspension since April 11, 2025, due to an ongoing Professional Standards Bureau investigation. He has been released from custody with conditions.

His first court appearance is scheduled for September 8, 2026, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket. This incident is not related to Project South.
