Witnesses Sought in Markham Collision

York Regional Police are seeking witnesses following a two-vehicle collision in Markham that resulted in one person sustaining life-threatening injuries.

York Regional Police Major Collision Investigations Unit is appealing for witnesses after a two-vehicle collision in Markham. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 10:54 a.m., in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Steelcase Road.

A black Honda Civic, traveling northbound on Woodbine Avenue, collided with a black Chevrolet pick-up truck, also traveling northbound. The adult female driver of the Civic was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. An adult female passenger from the Civic was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and was not physically injured.

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are asking for witnesses who have not yet spoken with police and anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision to come forward.
