Witnesses Sought After Two Pedestrians Struck in Vaughan

York Regional Police are seeking witnesses following a collision in Vaughan where two pedestrians were struck by an SUV.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 7:20 p.m., police responded to a collision at the intersection of Rutherford Road and Velmar Drive. Two pedestrians were struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) while crossing in the crosswalk.

An adult male pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. An adult female pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.

The York Regional Police Major Collision Investigations Unit is investigating and appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and for anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision.
