Two Charged in Illicit Online Cannabis Distribution Investigation
York Regional Police have charged two individuals following an investigation into an unlicensed online cannabis distribution network operating in York Region.
The York Regional Police Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement Unit has charged two suspects after an investigation into an illicit online cannabis distribution network. On May 4, 2026, investigators received information that youths had accessed an online cannabis distribution website and that some had become ill after consuming products. The website advertised cannabis products in packaging that contravened the Cannabis Act.
The investigation found that the website operated without a license to sell cannabis, that the cannabis was unregulated, and that the operator did not confirm the identity or age of customers. On May 6, 2026, two suspects were charged. Search warrants were executed at a residence in Vaughan, a residence in Brampton, and on a vehicle used for distribution. Officers seized illicit cannabis products and proceeds of crime.
