Police Warn of Cameras Used in Vaughan Break-ins

York Regional Police are warning the public about two incidents where cameras were used to scout residences prior to residential break and enters. These incidents were reported in Vaughan. Cameras and battery packs, disguised with camouflage, were found on residential properties, hidden near trees and bushes. A review of the footage showed the devices were placed to record homeowners’ routines, which allowed suspects to scout properties before committing break and enters. Homeowners are advised to be aware of this technique and to report any suspicious people, items, or activity to police.
