Police Seek Witnesses After Incident in Vaughan Park

York Regional Police are seeking additional information and witnesses following an assault in a Vaughan park last week.

York Regional Police are continuing to seek information to identify a suspect and vehicle after an assault in Vaughan. The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, just before 5:30 p.m., in the area of Tami Court and Bathurst Street.

Police responded to a report that a young female was grabbed and picked up from behind by an unknown male while walking on a forested pathway connecting Lady Nadia Drive and Rivermill Crescent. The victim was able to break free and was not physically injured. The suspect fled northbound toward Lady Nadia Drive.

The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old male, last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, a grey and blue jacket, running shoes, and a black medical mask. The vehicle is believed to be a dark-coloured 2021 to 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLA sport utility vehicle. It was last seen traveling eastbound on Lady Dolores Avenue before turning north on Bathurst Street.

Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken with them, or anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area around the time of the incident, to contact them.
