York Regional Police are investigating a vehicle arson that occurred on Chant Crescent in Markham. On Sunday, June 21, 2026, at approximately 2:10 a.m., officers responded to reports of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, police found one vehicle engulfed in flames and a second vehicle damaged by the fire. Markham Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire and determined it was arson.
Surveillance footage from the area shows a suspect dressed in black on Chant Crescent. The investigation is ongoing.
