Man Sentenced in 2022 Vaughan Double Homicide
A Mississauga man has been convicted and sentenced to life in custody for a 2022 double homicide in Vaughan.
Kensworth Alton Francis, 31, of Mississauga, has been convicted and sentenced to life in custody following a 2022 double homicide in Vaughan. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., when officers responded to the ATL Lounge at 2220 Highway 7 West.
Upon arrival, officers found three victims with gunshot wounds. Two victims, 25-year-old Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe and 22-year-old Chibueze Momah, died from their injuries. A 20-year-old woman survived.
Francis was located and arrested by the United States Marshals Service in Hartford, Connecticut, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, after a Canada-wide warrant was issued. He was extradited to York Region. Francis was charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder and one count of Attempted Murder.
Following a jury trial, Francis was found guilty of two counts of First-Degree Murder and one count of Unlawfully Causing Bodily Harm. On Friday, June 19, 2026, he was sentenced at the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket to two life sentences for First-Degree Murder, with no parole eligibility for 25 years. He also received an eight-year imprisonment sentence for Unlawfully Causing Bodily Harm, with all sentences to be served concurrently.
