York Regional Police charged a man after an incident at a demonstration concerning the conflict in Iran in Richmond Hill. On Sunday, May 10, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a dangerous driver near Major Mackenzie Drive West and Yonge Street. The suspect was operating a motor vehicle near an ongoing demonstration.

The suspect struck a food delivery driver who was not involved in the demonstration. While fleeing, the suspect struck another vehicle. The suspect then stopped the vehicle to yell threats at the demonstrators before being taken into custody. The victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
