Cyclist Struck by Dump Truck in East Gwillimbury
York Regional Police are seeking witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a dump truck in East Gwillimbury.
York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses following a collision between a cyclist and a dump truck in East Gwillimbury. The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m., in the area of Doane Road, east of Warden Avenue.
Authorities reported that the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when the collision took place. The cyclist, a 58-year-old man from Markham, was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
