Charges Laid in Vaughan Condo Break-and-Enter Series
York Regional Police have charged one individual and are seeking a second suspect in connection with multiple condominium break-and-enters in Vaughan.
Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged one suspect and are seeking a second suspect in connection with a series of break-and-enters at condominiums. Police had previously issued a public warning regarding suspects gaining access to buildings and applying a glue-like substance to unit doors to determine occupancy before committing break-and-enters.
As a result of the investigation, Malkhazi Khutsishvili, 39, of Vaughan, was identified. On July 2, 2026, search warrants were executed at a residence and a vehicle in Vaughan. Khutsishvili has been charged with nine counts of Break and Enter with Intent, six counts of Fail to Comply with Judicial Release Order, Possession of Break in Instruments, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.
At the time of the offences, Khutsishvili was subject to a Judicial Release Order requiring him to remain in his residence between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. The investigation is ongoing, and a second suspect remains outstanding.
