About This Event
Mechanical Engineer: Egg Drop Challenge
Is your child interested in building things and engineering? In this program, your child will be able to work collaboratively with their peers to design and build a protective structure that keeps an egg safe when dropped from a certain height. Using specific materials, students will test their
designs and explore how different engineering strategies can reduce impact and protect fragile objects. This program allows your child to investigate one of the major STEM subjects, whilst learning problem solving skills
Learning Outcomes
• Identify and apply basic engineering principles such as forces, crumple zones, and impulse to design a structure that can support a fragile load.
• Build, test, and improve the design of a prototype.
Participants: Children aged 8 - 13 years old
Note: Please sign up for each of the four sessions for your child(ren) to be able to attend all four unique sessions in this program series.
