About This Event

Is your child in Grades 4-6 and would like to explore the world of Science?

This program focuses on inspiring children to explore the field of Science and each session will run according to the structure: 

  • Activity/Experiment - around 15-25 mins  (including discussion about the activity) 
  • Independent Research using iPads - around 20 mins (research a Science topic) - for those registered for each week, the student will research a new topic each week 
  • Presentation of research topic to the group - around 15 mins 

The topics for each week is as follows: 

Session 1: Activity/Experiment - Spaghetti tower (items used: spaghetti, marshmallows)

Session 2: Activity/Experiment - Rainbow milk (items used: whole milk, liquid dish soap, q-tips/cotton swabs, food colouring) 

Session 3: Activity/Experiment - Measuring Photosynthesis with Floating leaves (items used: baking soda, liquid soap, leaves etc). 

Session 4: Activity/Experiment - Balloon Powered Car (items used: balloons, coin wrappers, modeling clay etc).

** Please note: Participants must be in at least Grade 4 to join the program**
